5 Days Tsavo East, Tsavo West, Amboseli & Shimba Hills Safari

Departing early from your beach hotel, you cross agricultural lowlands into the wilds of Tsavo East. After entering the park you enjoy an afternoon game drive and settle into your lodge, keeping an eye out for elephants, giraffes, and plains game as the sun sets over the savannah.

Following an early-morning game drive and breakfast, you travel towards Tsavo West. The afternoon is spent exploring Mzima Springs and the park’s lava formations, with time for photography and wildlife viewing in this more rugged environment before spending the night near the park.

After breakfast you head to Amboseli, arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Amboseli offers exceptional opportunities to view large elephant herds with Mount Kilimanjaro in the background, and you’ll enjoy dramatic landscapes and excellent chances for wildlife photography at dusk.

You depart Amboseli early and drive south toward the coastal Shimba Hills National Reserve. The Shimba Hills are a lush, montane forest area with waterfalls, coastal forest species and the rare sable antelope. Upon arrival you take a guided game drive and nature walk through the forest to spot elephant herds that enjoy the dense foliage and to visit Sheldrick Falls if time allows.

On the final morning you enjoy another short nature walk or guided drive through Shimba Hills before driving back to your coastal hotel. You arrive in the afternoon, giving you time to relax on the beach or enjoy a seaside dinner after your varied and wildlife-rich coastal safari.
