Your journey begins early in Nairobi with a drive through the dramatic Great Rift Valley. A brief stop at a scenic viewpoint lets you admire the vast escarpment, distant lakes, and patchwork of farmland below. Continuing on, you pass Maasai villages where colorful shukas and beaded jewelry reflect the vibrant culture of the region. Arriving at your lodge or tented camp in time for lunch, you’ll enjoy your first taste of the Mara with an afternoon game drive. The golden light bathes the plains as herds of elephants move gracefully, antelopes leap across the grass, and perhaps a leopard rests in the shade of an acacia. The day ends with a glowing sunset before returning for dinner and a restful night.
